This project-oriented class will focus on using the potters wheel. We will start with simple forms and work up to more complicated, "thrown & altered" construction techniques. If you've ever wanted to try learning how to throw pots on the wheel, this is your chance! If you are returning to the craft, this is your chance to take it further! There is always room for adding new techniques to your skill set.

Each in-person class will involve a demonstration of a form or technique, and guided working time for skill development. A main benefit of enrollment includes the use of the studio during Open Studio Hours, which will be an important time for students to practice at their own pace.

Beginners are welcome, as are experienced wheel-throwers. Those students with previous experience can expand on instructor demonstrations and/or focus on specific, self-developed projects, if desired.

This class fee includes all tools and materials, plus 6 weeks of studio usage5 instructional classes and an evening gathering at the end of the session to pick up fired work and socialize with other members of the Marlboro Studio School ceramics community.
