Ceramics: Wheel Throwing

Wednesdays from 5:30 – 8:00 pm
8 sessions, March 5 – April 23, 2025

This 8-week class will explore wheel throwing techniques and strategies aimed at meeting students where they are and building new skills.
We will cover altering thrown forms, throwing larger pieces, pouring vessels, closed forms, as well as refining your skills. Each week’s class will include a demonstration and discussion of a technique followed by free work time with instruction as needed.
Students will receive 25 lbs of stoneware clay included in their tuition* with the opportunity to purchase more if needed, and full access to the Ceramics Studio during Open Studio Hours.
*Students will have the option to use studio stoneware (25 lbs included in class fee) or porcelain (additional charge) during this class.
Skill Level: 1-5, all levels welcome.
This class is open to students age 16+

Rob Cartelli is an award-winning potter living in South Newfane, Vermont with his family.
Among others awards, Rob has received the Jane and Leonard Korman Prize for Best of Show in Ceramics at the 2014 Philadelphia Museum of Art Contemporary Craft Show.
He is a member of the Vermont Crafts Council, a juried member of the League of New Hampshire Craftsmen, and a member of the Rock River Artists of Newfane, Vermont.
